Sunday Morning Worship

From September through May, we observe the following worship schedule.

Communion is offered on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at the 8:30 AM service and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at the 11:00 AM service.

Begining the first weekend of June and continuing through August, Immanuel follows a summer worship schedule:

During this time, communion is offered on the weekends corresponding to the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.

The sermon, readings, and prayers are on the radio, 96.7 WCEI–FM, at 10 AM each Sunday.

Since our church feels a Biblically founded stewardship regarding the Lord's Supper, we ask that you prayerfully consider these truths.   Baptized Christians who share the faith in Christ we proclaim are welcome to the Lord's table:
I know that I am a sinner in thought, word and deed and from my heart I repent (turn from) all my sins against God and man, intending to amend my sinful life
I believe that Jesus Christ is my only Lord and Savior from sin through His death and resurrection for me.
I have been baptized into the Triune God.
I believe that the Risen Christ is present in the Sacrament and that with the bread and wine I receive His true Body and Blood.

Children who have not received instructions are invited to come forward for a blessing.  Grape juice is available for those with allergies or other concerns.

Sunday School

From September through June Sunday School is held from 9:45 – 10:45 AM.  Children ages 2 through High School have a unique opportunity to learn more about Jesus and His precious Word to us.

Classes are offered for these age groups:

In addition, Immanuel offers two different types of adult Bible study groups every quarter.  One class provides an in-depth look at one of the Books of the Bible. Recent offerings included the Gospel of Mark, the Book of Acts, and Paul's letters to the Thessalonians (1 & 2).

A second class delves into topics of interest to Christians.  These run the full range of offerings for new Christians (101 classes) such as devotional life, prayer, witnessing, Christian finance, spiritual gifts.  They also include classes for growing Christians such as End of Life Issues, Creationism, the Muslim faith, conflict resolution, parenting and marriage enrichment.

Pastor Graudin will begin a new members class for adults during the months of January and February. Using Luther's Small Catechism and other appropriate material, this class considers what Lutheran Christians believe, teach and confess and what it means to be a member of Immanuel Congrgation. Please speak to Pastor Graudin about joining this Sunday morning class.

A two year program of instruction is provided at Immanuel for children in the seventh and eight grades to prepare them to participate completely int the life and mission of Christ's Church. Pastor Graudin teaches this two year class which culminates in the rite of confirmation on Pentecost Sunday each year (May 31, 2009). The class ciriculum alternates every year with the study of Luther's Small catechism (basic Christianity) one year and a Bible survey the alternate year. This year the class will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM. If your child is of confirmation age, please contact Pastor Graudin or the churh office to enroll.

Children's Church

For children ages 3 through 5, Children's church is offered twice a month during worship services where Holy Communion is being celebrated. Children's Church provides an age appropriate worship experience for restless youngsters. Children are dismissed from the sanctuary during the sermon hymn and are met by their parents when the service ends.
