Holy Communion

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first and third Sunday of the month during the 8:30am Traditional Worship Service.

It is celebrated on the second and fourth Sunday of the month during the 11:00am Blended Worship service.

May I participate in Holy Communion?

Please come to the table if you agree with the Scriptural truths we profess and teach Immanuel Lutheran, a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and confess/believe the following:

  • Because we are all sinners in thought, word and deed. I also pray God Almighty to have mercy on me, forgive me all my sins and bring me to everlasting life.

  • Only through the gift of the Holy Spirit, am I able to confess that the Person and Work of Jesus Christ has saved me from sin, death and the Devil and my Salvation in Him is secure.

  • I have been baptized in the name of the Triune God: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit- that through this baptism, I have new life in Christ Jesus.

  • I confess my belief that the risen Savior Jesus Christ is present in, with and under the Sacrament, that with the bread and wine, I receive the very Body and Blood of Christ Jesus my Lord.

If you desire to forgo Communion, you are sincerely invited to come to the altar and receive a blessing from the Pastor. Simply make this intention known by placing your hand over your heart. Children who are not yet confirmed may also come to the altar for a blessing. For your convenience, alcohol-free wine is available in the center ring of the individual cups. Please let Pastor know during Communion should you prefer gluten free bread. We encourage you to use individual cups if you are feeling ill.
