What to expect (FAQs).

Where do I park?

There are parking lots immediately to the south side of our facility. There are visitor parking spots in the front row near the door. If you’re visiting, be sure to use one of those.

How do people dress?

Many people come to church in “business casual” attire, but there is no dress code. Come as you are… God isn’t fashion conscious, and neither are we.

What’s a service like?

We have two different services, each with a different worship style. The 8:30 AM service is our traditional service. We use a liturgy out of Lutheran Service Book or a specially written liturgical service. We sing mostly hymns in this service. The 11:00 AM service is our blended service. We have a Praise Team that leads the worship using keyboard, bass, and drum. This service typically uses praise songs as opposed to hymns. It is more casual in nature as well.

What’s the music like?

Music runs the gamut from traditional hymns accompanied by organ in our traditional service to contemporary accompanied by keyboard and bass.

As a visitor, will I be introduced during the service?

No.  It is not our practice to have visitors stand during the service and be introduced.

Are there accommodations for families with young children?

Yes. Parents with young children are welcome to sit anywhere in church. We do have an unstaffed Nursery room where you may take your children, if needed. The service can be heard in the nursery through a speaker system.

Are the facilities handicap-accessible?

Yes.  The building is on ground level. There are reserved parking spaces in the south parking lot near the door. There is no step to enter at that location.

Will I be required to give an offering?

No, an offering box is placed in the narthex, but giving is strictly voluntary.

Who may take Communion?

All are invited who are baptized, repentant of their sins, and believe that our Lord Jesus Christ is truly present with His body and blood in the eating and drinking of bread and wine in His Supper. For more on this, please see the longer statement on the Service Times page.

How do I become a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church?

We extend the Sacrament of Baptism to all who have not been baptized – infants, children, youth, and adults.

We Invite those adults who are looking for a church home to speak to our pastor about a membership class. Upon Completion of this class, you may join Immanuel in one of the following ways:

Rite of Confirmation – for those who have never been confirmed in the Lutheran Church.

Letter of Transfer – for those wishing to transfer their membership from another Lutheran congregation.

Reaffirmation of Faith – for those who have been confirmed in a Lutheran Church, but have not been active.
